This course is designed to help you acquire the skills you will need to effectively respond in an emergency situation. CPR is a combination of chest compressions and breaths and provides critical blood flow and oxygen to the heart and brain. If CPR is started within three to five (3-5) minutes of collapse, it increases a victim’s chance of survival and reduces the chance of permanent damage. First Aid is defined as the medical attention that is given to an ill or injured person before medical experts arrive on the scene. OSHA details First Aid care to include cleaning minor cuts and scratches, treating burns, helping to relieve heat stress, and more.
